Configure and Record an Auto Attendant

By default, there is an auto attendant called Business Hours that pulls its information from the portal settings (ie, configured extensions and labels as directory, etc. ). If you wish to record your own Auto attendant, follow these instructions.

  1. Navigate to Services at the top of the page, and select Auto Attendant on the left. Auto Attendant
  2. Click the New Auto Attendant button to create a new one, or edit an existing one by clicking on the pencil icon. Main Auto Attendant Setup
  3. Pay attention to the information in the blue tinted box. This will tell you what number to dial in order to record the auto attendant. In this case, it is *321. Follow the prompts. To listen to the recording, you would dial *331. Blue Box Information
  4. An Auto Attendant can be as simple or complex as needed. Write out the script in advance. Configure the Buttons according to the auto attendant script. Button Configurations
  5. Be sure to save your changes when you are done.

This is an example of a simple auto attendant. The buttons are configured to direct the caller to the appropriate extension or voicemail box.
