Configure a Meraki Switch for VoIP

This guide outlines recommended configurations for a Meraki MS switch to prioritize and separate VoIP traffic, ensuring optimal call quality.

  1. Configure switch ports as access ports.
  2. Assign Data and Voice VLANs.
  3. Enable and configure QoS settings.
  1. In the Meraki Dashboard, navigate to Configure > Switch > Ports.

  2. Select the port to modify.

  3. Change Type to access.

  4. Save your changes.

  1. Ensure the port is set to access mode.
  2. Enter your Data VLAN ID.
  3. Enter your Voice VLAN ID.
  4. Save your settings.

  2. Scroll to the Quality of Service section.
  3. Enable QoS and add a rule for Voice VLAN (e.g., VLAN 20).
